Steven D. Lavine, former President of CalArts was named a recipient of the 2016 Motif Award Arts of Achievement Medal Of Honor in memoriam of Charles M. Schultz
Lavine was recognized for his 30 years of service as President of Calarts Institute. The CalArts Institute founded by Walt Disney was incorporated in 1961 as the first degree-granting institution of higher learning in the United States created specifically for students of both the visual and performing arts.
